A brand new and unique event which started in North Wales in 2017. The only event of its kind in the UK!
Not for the faint hearted, to take on the full challenge you will need commitment and determination to prepare for and complete this event.
The Snowdonia Challenge is a walking challenge. It is a test of mental and physical resilience and team work and will take you on a journey of self discovery. It is inspired by multi-day challenges used as military training events in Europe.
This is not just about challenge and adventure though. Taking part in the Snowdonia Challenge you will be part of an amazing adventure where you will make new friends and explore parts of Snowdonia you’ve never been before.
Full event – 3 day walking event – 100km over 3 days
Or if you’d like to be a part of it but can’t commit to the full 3 days then join us for 1 or 2 days.
Each morning we start from the beautiful village of Betws-y-coed. On each day we follow a different route through the stunning Snowdonia mountains and forests starting from and returning to the same place each day.
Routes are well marked and marshalled along the way so no navigation is necessary.
If you chose to fundraise for your challenge you can take part in this event for a charity of your choice either as an individual or as part of a charity team.

This challenge is suitable for anyone who is confident of their fitness levels or ready to commit to training over the next few weeks and months.
Lots of people arrive on their own but soon become part of the big Snowdonia Challenge family.
Our Training Plans are specifically designed for this type of event. We recommend you are at ‘Tough’ or ‘Challenging’ level for this event, but even if you don’t feel fit enough yet you can start with the ‘Beginners’ plan and work your way up.
This is a perfect challenge for teams to be involved.

If you are buying new kit Cotswold Outdoor are offering a special discount to everyone who signs up under the ‘Early Bird’ offer. The code will be emailed to you once we have received your deposit or payment and can be used online or in store.
Cotswold Outdoor also offer great kit advice and a brilliant boot fitting service in some stores.
The whole event takes part over 3 days and 3 different routes totalling 100km.
If you just want to join us for 1 or 2 days you can chose which days you’d like to do.
Terrain is a combination of paths and fields, forest tracks and tarmac. A combination of footwear is recommended depending on preference and weather.
These are the routes we used in 2017. These will be improved slightly for 2018. Finalised routes will be available as an overview and an OS file nearer the time. There will be no need to navigate as routes will be well marked and marshalled.

Once you have completed your online booking form you can pay your deposit or the total cost of your event in the following ways:
On completing your form you can select the option to pay by debit card through our payment processor Stripe. This is the only way we can take card payments.

|What happens next…|
Once we have received your booking you will get an automated ‘Booking Pending’ email. if you have not paid through Stripe we will hold your place for 7 days until we receive your deposit.

Unless it states otherwise on your event page deposits to secure your booking are as follows:
One day event – £25 per person (if your event is less than 4 weeks away please send us the total event fee as shown on the event page).
Weekend / multi day event – £50 per person (if your event is less than 8 weeks away please send us the total event fee as shown on the event page).
We currently have a no dogs policy on all of our events.
We are reviewing this for some of our larger day time events and will update asap.
Most of our events are over 18’s only, however for some events children age 14 and over can attend providing they are accompanied by a responsible adult. One child per adult.

All members of the team we met were very helpful and encouraging. This has been one of the most organised events I have taken part in, you seem to have got it almost right 1st time, well done.
This was such a fantastic event, tough enough to be a challenge for mere mortals, yet achievable to anyone with the determination to train and push themselves. It was also an emotional journey that will stay with me for a long time.
The challenge was so phenomenally well organised and you, Tracey and your whole team were absolutely brilliant. See you all next year!

Every last detail was thought of and every person who formed part of the organisation for the weekend was knowledgeable, approachable and motivating!
