Information
The Carneddau range is around 70 square miles, wild, rugged with remote mountain tops where on a good day we will see no-one else! The highest point, Carnedd Llewelyn at 1064m in height is only 21m shy of the highest peak in Wales, Yr Wyddfa (Snowdon) at 1085m, but it rarely sees any visitors in comparison.

Head steeply north below the crags of Cwm Eigiau
Route then contours West and South West
Summit Carnedd Llewelyn 1064m
Retrace steps for 500m before heading North
Summit Foel Grach 976m
Carneddau Descent
Head South East for 1.5km above the crags of Craigfawr
Descend to Melynllyn (yellow lake) reservoir
Return to start via Clogwyn Maldy and Clogwynyreryr

We want everyone to enjoy their challenge and reach the summit in their own time so will walk at a pace suitable for the whole group. It is important that the group stays together with the leader/s. Depending on numbers taking part groups may be split into smaller groups of similar pace and ability.
Please note that, although we would love to, we can’t promise clear skies on this day!
Registration fee – £35.00
You can secure your place with a £10 deposit. The balance will be due 8 weeks before the date of the event.
Qualified, experienced mountain leader with you all the way (ratio 1:8 or less)

Information Pack 2-4 weeks before
This is an example itinerary, exact details will be sent to you in your event information pack 2 weeks before the event.
8.30am – Meet your Breese Adventures leader for your briefing at ROADSIDE Parking at end of minor road. Postcode LL32 8SH APPROX.
9am – Start walking
12pm – Reach the summit Carnedd Llewelyn
1pm – Reach the summit of Foel Grach
4pm – Arrive back at Start
If you are 18 or over, have a good level of fitness and can walk 5-6 hours comfortably with some hill walking experience then this challenge is for you.
A reasonable head for heights would be good.
If you are not sure about fitness levels but are committed to put in some training over the next few months we have specially designed training plans to help you along the way. We recommend the ‘Challenging’ training plan for this event.
All walkers should be 18 and over.
