Betws-y-Coed to Capel Curig
This walk, as part of Snowdonia Walking Festival, takes in a section of the Snowdonia Slate Trail, a 83 mile circular trail which allows walkers to explore the industrial heritage of the Slate villages throughout Snowdonia.
This section will take you from Betws-y-Coed along the river and past Swallow Falls and the Miner’s Bridge.
Reaching the Ugly House you will then head into Gwydyr Forest with views of Snowdon, Moel Siabod and the Carneddau.
You will be accompanied by a qualified Mountain Leader throughout the walk.
Returning to Betws-y-Coed.
Walking distance – 10 miles
Ascent – 500 metres
Time – 6-7 hours
This walk is suitable for anyone over 14. You should be comfortable walking for 3 – 4 hours without stopping.
All under 18’s must be accompanied by a parent.
You will be accompanied by a qualified and experience Mountain Leader throughout the walk.
Special equipment needed – Suitable and weather appropriate footwear and clothing. Please see our Kit List. You may not be able to take part in the walk if you do not have appropriate kit.

Meeting Point – Waterloo Hotel, Betws-y-Coed. Please arrive no less than 30 minutes before your walk time.
You will be asked to complete a medical declaration when you arrive.
There are toilets at the hotel
