Discover the story that has been 450 million years in the making!

The Story of the Stones of Betws-y-Coed is a special interest walk will bring you into contact with the stories in the landscape, the river and the stones of the truly mystical Betws-y-Coed where myths and legends abound.

The stories of the stones have been over 450 million years in the making! You may be surprised by what you discover!

In case of adverse weather conditions, an alternative walk will be substituted, it will still contain the same topics but in another location in and around Betws-y-Coed.

 

Only 10 places available each day so booking essential.

 

Who is it for?

Suitable for: Adults and children 6+

All children should be strictly under the supervision of a responsible adult (1 adult per child).

Walk Leader

Your walk will be led by by Heather Ibbetson from A Stones Tale. Heather has a BSc PhD in geoarchaeology.

“Every stone has a tale to tell. My name is Heather Ibbetson and I am an archaeologist here in Snowdonia, I have been involved in Earth Sciences for 23 years and have now started my own company A Stones Tale to share my experiences with YOU.”

What will I need?

Please dress appropriately for the weather.

 

Special kit required: None, but please wear suitable attire for the weather including walking boots

Experience needed: None

Packed Lunch required: Optional but please bring water

Walk Details

Please meet Heather at the Waterloo Hotel, Betws-y-Coed no less than 15 minutes before your walk time.

There are toilets at the hotel.
