Snowdonia 24 – How far will you go?
We have some great news to start 2019. We are delighted to launch another brand new event, Snowdonia’s first 24 hour challenge.
Over 24 hours in September hundreds of participants will be taking part each as individuals or team members to take on their own challenge of how many 10km laps they can complete.
HOW FAR WILL YOU GO?
Take on the challenge by yourself and see how far you can go, or enter as a relay team with each team member doing their own distance at their own pace.
Who’s it for?
This challenge is for anyone (over 18) who is confident of their fitness levels or ready to commit to training over the next few weeks and months.
Whether you’re a short or long distance walker, an experienced trail runner or new to trail running this event offers you an exciting challenge that allows you to push yourself to the next level.
SNOWDONIA 24 IS THE NEXT LEVEL IN PERSONAL CHALLENGES FOR TRAIL RUNNERS AND LONG DISTANCE WALKERS
Taking part as an individual you can do as many laps as you can at your own pace and in your own time (within the 24 hours). There will be a member of our team at base to keep track of your laps.
Pairs and Teams
SNOWDONIA 24 IS A GREAT TEAM EVENT AND PERFECT IF YOU ARE NEW TO TRAIL RUNNING (OR WALKING) AND DON’T FEEL READY TO TAKE ON THE FULL 24 HOURS ON YOUR OWN
You can enter in pairs or teams of 3 – 5 or 6 – 8. Unlike other 24 hour team challenges we don’t restrict you to one team member at a time on the trail. As many people of your team as you like can be on the trail at any time!
The 10km scenic but challenging trail takes you from the gorgeous village of Betws-y-Coed, up into the Gwydyr Forest and around Llyn Elsi with fantastic views across Snowdonia, before heading back down to the village.
The trail consists of forest tracks, narrow paths and tarmac, with a couple of hills thrown in, and will be well signed along the way.
You’ll be fully supported throughout the 24 hours by our team of qualified mountain leaders along the route and our ‘base team’ at the end of each lap. There’ll be a first aid and emergency team on hand for medical support.
There’s also plenty of space for your own support team to come along and offer additional encouragement.
There’ll be water, snacks and refreshments to keep up your energy levels and hot meals included.
Take home an exclusive, locally sourced Snowdonia 24 slate medal and some amazing memories.
Snowdonia 24 is based in the beautiful village of Betws-y-Coed, the gateway to Snowdonia.
The name Betws-y-Coed translates to ‘Sanctuary in the Forest’ and it’s through the stunning Gwydyr Forest that your challenge will take place.
