Providing the foundation to improve skills for life and employment
RootSkills is a social enterprise based in North Wales which provides support to adults with an Autism Spectrum or related neuro-diverse conditions and their families.
RootSkills focuses on providing support for families both pre and post diagnosis. We also provide training in the essential skills needed for life, well-being and employment. The skills that are at the ‘root’ of everything we do.
Employability skills and work experience
RootSkills provide training and support to organisations to help them with a better understanding of living with, engaging and employing adults with ASD and related conditions.
Where we come in
Breese Adventures offer outdoor residential and non-residential programmes and a range of outdoor activities. Our programmes introduce the benefit of learning outdoors, connecting with the environment and provide a whole range of opportunities to develop and improve life and employability skills.
During our sessions we introduce you to the outdoors and a range of activites, promoting awareness of your individual strengths and abilities, an awareness of others and an understanding of the environment.
Programmes are small groups of 6 – 8 participants to allow flexibility and a high level of support for each individual. Each group will be accompanied at all times by 2 outdoor instructors.
What will I learn?
Along with the obvious health, wellbeing and fitness benefits of the outdoors these are some of the skills we will focus on developing:
- Decision making
- Problem solving
- Self awareness
- Social awareness
- Environmental awareness
- Team work
- Task analysis and planning
We also provide the opportunity to develop a better understanding of the outdoors and the environment, how others see the world and how this translates in a work environment.
