The 10km trail takes you from the village, up into the Gwydyr Forest and around Llyn Elsi with fantastic views across Snowdonia, before heading back down to the village.

Registration

Registration will take place on Cae Llan in the centre of Betws-y-Coed from 9am on Saturday 21st September. There will be a bag drop for you to leave spare kit which will be open until everyone has completed their final lap.

During your challenge

Following a safety briefing the first lap will set off at 11am. At the end of each lap you should ‘check in’ at base so that we can keep track of your laps and who is on the trail. There is no limit on how long each lap can take you or, if you are in a team, how many of you can be on the trail at any time (providing you stay together).

There will be an undercover rest area at base with refreshments and someone to answer any questions you might have.

You can retire at any point during your challenge.

Route Support

The trail will be well marked and marshalled the whole way.

Our team of qualified mountain leaders will be along along the route throughout the 24 hours and our ‘base team’ will be there for support at the end of each lap. There will be first aid and emergency support on hand if you need it.

Bringing a Support Team with you

Please bring along friends and family to support you. There will be plenty in the village to keep them entertained while you are on the trail.

Setting off from the centre of Betws-y-Coed the route will take you up into Gwydyr Forest and around Llyn Elsi.

The stunning but challenging 10km trail consists of forest tracks, narrow paths and tarmac, with a couple of hills thrown in, and will be well signed to show you the way so no need to navigate!

You’ll set off on the first lap at 11am completing it at your own pace, whether you run, jog or walk.

10km route elevation – 587m

Final route information and maps will be sent to you in your Information Pack.

You may decide to use your challenge to fundraise fore your favourite charity. This is entirely optional!

If you are fundraising you  should let your charity know you are taking part. Please let us know if you’d like us to help with finding contact details or liaising with your charity.

We work with a number of fantastic charities on events such as Snowdonia Challenge and are more than happy to put you in touch with them.

We also have a Fundraising Pack we are happy to send you.
